Palm Beach voters are going to suck this election.

Politics: The state got rid of the touchscreens and brought back the paper ballots. Lord help us.

Marking ballots in Palm Beach County is supposed to be as easy as drawing an arrow from right to left. But it’s apparently not simple for everyone.

Seventy-seven disputed ballots, of the 11,199 cast during early voting on optical scanners, were reviewed today by Palm Beach County elections canvassing board. The board includes a local judge, a county attorney, and County Commissioners Mary McCarty and Jess Santamaria.

Instead of drawing arrows, some voters marked their ballots with squiggly lines, others circled candidate names (an improper proper method to cast a vote), while voters some just didn’t finish their arrows.

“No matter how easy you make it, there’s room for voter error,” said Supervisor of Elections Arthur Anderson.
