| Gordon Brown is heading for the worst performance by a government in modern political history in today's European elections, according to a shock poll. Labour support among those certain to vote has slumped to just 16 per cent, the worst for the party since records began, raising the prospect that Mr Brown might actually finish fourth. His party is a humiliating two points behind the UK Independence Party among certain voters and just one point ahead of the Liberal Democrats. The Tories are ten points clear of Labour, according to the YouGov survey for the Daily Telegraph. |
