Tone Deaf Obama to call for even more spending in the SOTU address.

You can't keep the big tax and spend liberal values of Obama hidden for long.

President Barack Obama will call for new government spending on infrastructure, education and research in his State of the Union address Tuesday, sharpening his response to Republicans in Congress who are demanding deep budget cuts, people familiar with the speech said.

Mr. Obama will argue that the U.S., even while trying to reduce its budget deficit, must make targeted investments to foster job growth and boost U.S. competitiveness in the world economy. The new spending could include initiatives aimed at building the renewable-energy sector—which received billions of dollars in stimulus funding—and rebuilding roads to improve transportation, people familiar with the matter said. Money to restructure the No Child Left Behind law's testing mandates and institute more competitive grants also could be included.

While proposing new spending, Mr. Obama also will lay out significant budget cuts elsewhere, people familiar with the plans say, though they will likely fall short of what Republican lawmakers have requested.

Obama will go after the military to advocate spending cuts.

Ex Gov Tom Ridge the cause of Gosnell's abortion murder spree?

The pro abortion view of Tom Ridge lead to the situation where this murder clinic was never inspected.
In its report, the panel said the Health Department "decided, for political reasons, to stop inspecting abortion clinics at all."

Health Department lawyers changed their opinions and advice "to suit the policy preferences of different governors," the report said. The department dropped its policy of annual inspections in the mid-1990s under Gov. Tom Ridge, who supported abortion rights, the report said.

A health department lawyer testified about a 1999 meeting of high-level state officials "at which a decision was made not to accept a recommendation to reinstitute regular inspections of abortion clinics," citing a concern that routine inspections would lead to "less abortion facilities, less access to women to have an abortion."

Rendell said Thursday that he "had no knowledge that was the policy of the Ridge administration, nor that the policy was being continued. The Department of Health never reached out to me to discuss what the policy should be."

The killing of unborn babies and the healthcare of the women took a backseat to pro abortion concerns. That is the end result of abortion when it comes to "rare but safe"

State agencies ignored complaints about Philadelphia abortion doctor for years.

Now that it is confirmed, mass firings and criminal charges must be done. This is what happens when you have such a pro abortion stance that outright murder is ignored.
Time and time again, authorities alerted to Kermit Gosnell's filthy and macabre abortion clinic - and to the injured, diseased or dead women he left in his wake - failed to rattle the alarm bells loudly enough to shut his house of horrors, the district attorney's grand-jury report found.

"The Department of State literally licensed Gosnell's criminally dangerous behavior," the report concluded, and the state Department of Health "gave its stamp of approval to his facility."

The "callous killing of babies outside the womb" persisted "for years" because officials looked the other way, the report said.

The grand jury also found that people at the city's Department of Public Health and city hospitals also learned of warning signals, but failed to act.

Obama names GE's Immelt head of new economic panel

All that MSNBC and GE sucking up has finally paid off big for the guy.

President Barack Obama will name General Electric Co. Chief Executive Jeffrey Immelt to head a new advisory panel focused on promoting economic growth by investing in business, the White House said on Friday.

The new panel, the "President's Council on Jobs and Competitiveness," will work to find ways to encourage businesses to hire and invest in U.S. competitiveness.

"Jeff Immelt's experience at GE and his understanding of the vital role the private sector plays in creating jobs and making America competitive makes him up to the challenge of leading this new Council," Obama said in a statement.

Will Smith to remake Annie with his daughter Willow and Jay-Z?

Alright, where is the backlash train? I need a first class ticket. Enough already.
Will and Jada Pinkett-Smith continue on in their plans to slowly take over the world via their children: Will Smith is in talks to remake the musical Annie—with daughter Willow in the lead role. And of course, because Willow is not the typical kid, with typical parents, dad is in talks with "Whip My Hair" collaborator Jay-Z into possibly coming on board.

It's still unclear whether the project will incorporate original songs or create new, Jay-Z-ified tracks. This isn't Smith's first time turning his children into mega-money makers: Hey produced The Karate Kid, starring son Jaden, which grossed more than $350 million worldwide

Huffington Post to add leftist black section to their site...GLOBALBLACK!

So now between, blackamericanweb and Huffington Post I get three leftist view of Americans by liberal blacks that will surely bring the race baiting funny.
The Huffington Post and BET co-founder Sheila Johnson are launching a HuffPost section devoted to African-Americans.

The section, "HuffPost GlobalBlack," is expected to debut in early March. The Huffington Post is set to make an official announcement about the new platform Thursday.

"Our goal is to cover more stories of importance to the black community," says Arianna Huffington, the co-founder and editor-in-chief of the New York-based Huffington Post.

"We have the supreme irony of having the first African-American president, which is such a historic event and a milestone, while at the same time, conditions for African-Americans are deteriorating, in terms of unemployment, in terms of high school graduation, in terms of the number of African-American males in prisons," Huffington says.

GlobalBlack is the 27th section for the Huffington Post, but its first racially based one. It plans to soon launch a Latino section.

Philadelphia abortion doctor kills 7 babies, did state officials look the other way?

Did the previous Dem led state government purposely look the other way because the butcher of Philadelphia performed abortions which was in line with their views? It sure looks like it. There are government officials that must be brought up on charges.

A doctor whose abortion clinic was described as a filthy, foul-smelling "house of horrors" that was overlooked by regulators for years was charged Wednesday with murder, accused of delivering seven babies alive and then using scissors to kill them.

Dr. Kermit Gosnell was also charged with murder in the death of a woman who suffered an overdose of painkillers while awaiting an abortion.

State regulators ignored complaints about Gosnell and the 46 lawsuits filed against him, and made just five annual inspections, most satisfactory, since the clinic opened in 1979, authorities said. The inspections stopped completely in 1993 because of what prosecutors said was the pro-abortion rights attitude that set in after Democratic Gov. Robert Casey, an abortion foe, left office.

Williams accused state Health Department officials of "utter disregard" for the safety of women undergoing abortion, and said the testimony of agency officials "enraged" the grand jury. But he said he could find no criminal offenses with which they could be charged, in part because too much time has elapsed.

"These officials were far more protective of themselves when they testified before the grand jury. Even (Health Department) lawyers, including the chief counsel, brought private attorneys with them - presumably at government expense," the report said.

James Clyburn demands he gets special treatment from TSA redux.

I missed this on Fox News Sunday but here again Clyburn makes himself and others in congress out to be better than the voters.
A top House Democrat said the attack on Rep. Gabrielle Giffords (D-Ariz.) should change how members of Congress are screened at airports.

“I really believe that that is the place where we feel the most ill at ease, is going through airports,” Rep. James Clyburn (D-S.C.), who serves as assistant minority leader in the House, said on "Fox News Sunday."

Clyburn called for the Transportation Security Administration, which administers airport security checkpoints, to interact “a little better” with the Capitol Hill Police.

“We’ve had some incidents where TSA authorities think that congresspeople should be treated like everybody else,” he said. “Well, the fact of the matter is, we are held to a higher standard in so many other areas, and I think we need to take a hard look at exactly how the TSA interact with members of Congress.”

Walmart goes to Africa; buys out South African retail chain.

Its easier for them to get into South Africa than it is to get into New York City.
Massmart said the proposal was approved by 97 percent of shareholders who voted Monday -- 75 percent had been needed. Wal-Mart offered 148 rand (about $20) per share in a 17 billion rand (about $2 billion) deal.

The deal will have to be approved by South Africa's anti-monopoly regulators.

Massmart CEO Grant Pattison said once the deal goes through, Massmart will continue to operate the stores and continue to be listed on the Johannesburg Stock Exchange, while Wal-Mart will be the main owner. Massmart runs about 290 big box, pharmacy, electronics and other stores in 14 African countries.

"They are a great retailer and we really are looking forward to learning something from them, and teaching them something about Africa," Pattison told The Associated Press. "We're excited because they're coming as our partners."

Obama's drilling moratorium on Gulf could collapse small businesses in the gulf.

The BP compensation fund is drying up and Obama's refusal to get more drilling permits approved is going to collapse whatever businesses are left up. All according to plan.

The report, released late last week by Greater New Orleans Inc., says businesses that directly and indirectly cater to offshore drilling rigs — from equipment suppliers to diners — outlasted last year's six-month moratorium by tapping a $20 billion compensation fund created by BP, the oil company responsible for the massive spill that fouled the Gulf of Mexico. As that money dries up and the pace of permitting for deepwater drilling remains slow, those companies may soon collapse, it says.

"If we don't get some certainty around regulations, we can begin to hit that wall and see that real steep increase in unemployment," said Michael Hecht, the group's president and chief executive officer.

The Obama administration in May issued a six-month moratorium on deepwater drilling after the BP oil disaster. The moratorium shut 33 deepwater rigs, affecting more than 13,000 workers, the report says.

Although the moratorium ended in October, only two deepwater permits have been issued since then, compared with 5.8 per month issued before the spill, the report says.

If the pace of permitting doesn't pick up, more businesses will suffer and the number of unemployed will increase within six months, Hecht said. Businesses used several tactics to survive the moratorium and retain employees, including restructuring business plans, selling equipment, digging into savings and cutting salaries, the report said. They also benefited from the BP compensation fund, Hecht said.

"But that's ending," he said. "That false economy is going to go away."

Say no to the new "civility" which means Dem get to set the ground rules.

The Giffords shooting has been used by the American left to score political points and smear people on the right, successfully with 35% of the American public concerning Sarah Palin. I understand Democrats believing everything but those people calling them conservatives/Republicans who believe the maps has anything to do with the shootings are mentally challenged.

This new civility tone is grade a bullshit. This is the Dems way to set the terms of debate on anything they don't want changed like Obamacare which has Clyburn already whining.

Don Surber post pointing out for the last 10 years anyone not on the left has been screamed, yelled and demonzied now wants everyone to be nice on their terms.

The left wants us to be civil — after being so uncivil for a decade.

Bite me. I have been screamed at for 10 years. It’s my turn now. I am not going to scream back. But I refuse to allow anyone to dictate what I say or how I say it. I refuse to allow the same foul-mouthed, foul-spirited foul people who dumped on me to now try to tell me what I may or may not say.

Just say to hell with them.

Dolphins hire former Browns Offensive Coordinator. Dolphins get 1st pick in 2012.

Dolphins have become more retarded under Ross and Ireland and this seals it.
The Miami Dolphins have reportedly hired former Cleveland Browns offensive coordinator Brian Daboll to fill the same role in 2011.

According to ESPN, Daboll, who was a member of Eric Mangini's staff with the New York Jets and Browns, will be replacing Dan Henning, whose offense struggled to score points, (17.1), featured a stagnant running game (3.7 yards per carry), and failed to score touchdowns in the red zone in 2010.

Daboll ran the Browns' offense for the past two seasons. Under his leadership this season Cleveland's offense finished 31st in scoring (16.9), which was one spot behind the Dolphins, and 29th in total yards (289.7) per game.

Obama's National Labor Relations Board says secrets ballots are not lawful.

Now that the board is stacked with pro union members they are trying to make sure that unions have an easier way to force membership including denying secret ballots.
The National Labor Relations Board on Friday threatened to sue Arizona, South Carolina, South Dakota and Utah over constitutional amendments guaranteeing workers the right to a secret ballot in union elections.

The agency's acting general counsel, Lafe Solomon, said the amendments conflict with federal law, which gives employers the option of recognizing a union if a majority of workers sign cards that support unionizing.

The amendments, approved Nov. 2, have taken effect in South Dakota and Utah, and will do so soon in Arizona and South Carolina.

Business and anti-union groups sought the amendments, arguing that such secrecy is necessary to protect workers against union intimidation. They are concerned that Congress might enact legislation requiring employers to allow the "card check" process for forming unions instead of secret ballot elections.

Gov.Lincon Chafee blocks use of e-verify to screen those legally eligible to work

How the hell did this goofball get elected Governor of Rhode Island? The first act is allowing Rhode Island to become an illegal immigrant paradise.
Less than 24 hours after he was sworn in, Governor Chafee Wednesday rescinded a controversial executive order on illegal immigration that had been issued by his predecessor, former Governor Carcieri.

Chafee signed the rescission in a packed room of cheering supporters, at the International Institute of Rhode Island, a nonprofit agency that aids immigrants and resettles hundreds of refugees each year.

He had pledged to rescind the order -- which he called divisive and harmful to the immigrant community -- as one of his first acts as governor.

"Today we are living up to those standards established by Roger Williams when he came here in 1636," Chafee said, speaking of Rhode Island's founder -- standards of "welcome, tolerance, personal rights and the broadest freedoms in the world."

Among other things, Carcieri's order required state agencies and vendors to verify the legal status of all employees.

The rescission will end a requirement that the Department of Administration and state vendors use a federal E-Verify screening program to determine whether new hires or employees are legally eligible to work in the country.

Obama wish comes true: Gas Prices going up.

Considering the economic damage he is doing for the coal industry, the oil industry and having the EPA running wild at the same time. This is just icing on the cake for him.
SAN FRANCISCO (MarketWatch) — When the U.S. Energy Department mentioned in a report this week that retail gasoline prices could top $4 per gallon later this year and diesel prices may rise 14% this year, that should’ve been cause for alarm for consumers who have already seen a steady climb in fuel prices in the last three months.

“Retail gasoline and diesel prices are usually near their lowest point for the year between December and February,” said Brian Milne, refined fuels editor at Telvent DTN. But the run-up in prices started in the fourth quarter, with prices continuing to climb on expectations that “an improving U.S. and world economy will bolster demand for fuel.” See Economic Report on the impact of gasoline prices on consumer sentiment this month.

Consumers last saw $4 per gallon prices at the pump in September of 2008, according to data from the Oil Price Information Service. Regular gasoline reached a record high at $4.11 per gallon on July 17, 2008.

Notice how little this is being played up in the price. If it was a GOP president all hell would have broken loose by now.
