New York City Ties Doctors’ Income to Quality of Care

But they can't do this for teachers? BTW, a great way to push more future doctors away from the profession. Lets face it, go to any emergency room or hospital where you had to share a room with the whiny complaining a-hole next to you and realize that a lot of these patients are idiots.

In a bold experiment in performance pay, complaints from patients at New York City’s public hospitals and other measures of their care — like how long before they are discharged and how they fare afterward — will be reflected in doctors’ paychecks under a plan being negotiated by the physicians and their hospitals.

The proposal represents a broad national push away from the traditional model of rewarding doctors for the volume of services they order, a system that has been criticized for promoting unnecessary treatment. In the wake of changes laid out in the Affordable Care Act, public and private hospitals are already preparing to have their income tied partly to patient outcomes and cost containment, but the city’s plan extends that financial incentive to the front line, the doctors directly responsible for treatment. It also shows how the new law could change longstanding relationships, giving more power to some of the poorest and most vulnerable patients over doctors who run their care.

“I would expect that we’re going to see this become more and more prevalent in compensation arrangements,” said Alan Aviles, president of the city’s Health and Hospitals Corporation, which runs the city’s 11 public hospitals and is the country’s largest public health system, handling more than 1 million emergency room visits a year.

The corporation’s plan would make doctors’ raises dependent on their performance on quality measures. The details are being negotiated with the doctors’ union, but both sides expect to reach an agreement that incorporates the idea.

Still, doctors are hesitant, saying they could be penalized for conditions they cannot control, including how clean the hospital floors are, the attentiveness of nurses and the availability of beds.

And it is unclear whether performance incentives work in the medical world; studies of similar programs in other countries indicate that doctors learn to manipulate the system.

Fort Lauderdale Mayor Jack Seiler to ban gun shows in the future?

Interesting little nugget in this article by local far left writer Michael Mayo on the local Gun Show held at the War Memorial every year.
This was my first trip to the gun show, and I was taken aback by the outdoor sales. I invited Fort Lauderdale Mayor Jack Seiler to join me Saturday, but he declined. He said he hasn't been to the show since he's been mayor.

"I have no trepidations at all about having the gun show on city property," Seiler told me. "They have a contract for this year and we're not going to breach a contract. But we'll be revisiting these contracts in the future to see whether it's an appropriate venue."

Along with a new Broward sheriff Scott Israel looking to ban guns from citizens,
Could you prevent a mass shooting? "If a person has made up his mind to commit mass violence, there are times where unfortunately, tragedies are going to happen. I'm a proponent of gun control, by urging elected officials to support robust gun control measures, keep assault rifles out of our state, out of the county. Make them illegal. People should have the right to have handguns in their homes. If you're licensed, you can carry a concealed weapon."

and a recent roundtable "discussion" with only Democrats discussing ways to ban people from getting guns, I would urge everyone to keep an eye on Broward County.

Vile Melissa Harris Perry says Justice Clarence Thomas is not black.

The repugnant vile toad of a beast Melissa Harris Perry will go to any lengths to defend Obama from attacks of a lack of diversity on his choices so far but again shows her ignorant ass by attacking Justice Thomas.

MSNBC host and commentator Melissa Harris Perry surprisingly defended the lack of diversity in President Obama's second term cabinet in an appearance on the network this morning. Harris Perry says just because someone is of one gender and not the other or has a certain skin color doesn't mean they are representative of that specific group. Harris Perry cites Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas as an example, who she says doesn't represent "the vast majority" of African-Americans.

MSNBC host and commentator Melissa Harris Perry says we should "be careful" when it comes to calling out the hypocrisy of President Obama for having a not so diverse cabinet. Perry says we don't want to "assume that any given physical body carries with it a set of political ideas."

Harris Perry names Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas as an example. Harris Perry says just because he is black it "does not mean Justice Thomas is representing necessarily the positions, the issues, even the Constitutional interpretation that is shared by the vast majority of civil rights organizations, by the vast majority of African-Americans."

So being black in her mind is being a far left liberal, if not then you are not black. Its the typical attacks made by the race hustlers and it astounds me the immaturity of the argument.

Justice Thomas is a supreme court judge and because he doesn't goosestep with the race hustlers of the world then he is not black? Black is not a matter of having only  liberal ideas Melissa and to discount someone like Justice Thomas who has achieved more in half a life that you will do in your entire hate filled life shows your ass.

Soledad O'Brien feigns ignorance over UK's Guardian Pedo Piece

and attacks Rush Limbaugh for pointing out this is how the left seeks to normalize what society consideres vile behavior. He points out that the concept of gay marriage started the same way.

So after Christine Romans, the business reporterette, does that set-up, then we had a discussion with Soledad O'Brien. She had the Obama campaign traveling press secretary Jen Psaki, a New Yorker magazine correspondent, Ryan Lizza, to talk about this.

PSAKI: Why is he talking about pedophilia? It’s not exactly like there’s a massive movement talking about pedophilia.

O'BRIEN: Or normalizing pedophilia.

PSAKI: Right. Exactly.

LIZZA: Yeah, it seems to me that the movement here is to equate pedophilia in some way...

O'BRIEN: With gay marriage.

LIZZA:...with gay marriage.

PSAKI: Right, or...

LIZZA: That's what he's up to here...

O'BRIEN: Right.

LIZZA: ...which is absurd.

O'BRIEN: We’re trying to understand the mind of Rush Limbaugh this morning (laughs) which is a...

PSAKI: A hard thing to break into.

O'BRIEN: Scary proposition.

RUSH: Well, it's not that hard to figure out, you guys. The Politico, by the way, also had a piece that ragged on me for comparing the increasing acceptance of pedophilia. Listen, it's not my fault. The UK Guardian is one of these people's favorite newspapers. It's a left-wing publication in the UK. They're the ones that did the story on the normalization of pedophilia. They're the ones that went out found academics to say that it's just another sexual orientation. They are the ones that did the story on how it can actually be helpful for children. I just told you about it.

As much as I think O'Brien is an idiot, she can't be that much of an idiot to not get what Rush meant and just seeked to stop the publicity over the vile article.

It won't work because its a perfect example of how the left works to normalize concepts into the mainstream.

BTW, The UK Guardian may have a small readership but is highly respected among the left in the UK and is basically a cheat sheet for the BBC News.

NBC's parenthood show celebrates killing unborn baby in abortion episode.

They even managed to fully show the liberal woman view of abortion by being the selfish ammoral this unborn baby needs to be killed because its all about me now attitude.
The hourlong NBC drama that aired Tuesday night featured teenage girl Amy (Skyler Day) aborting her fetus at a pristine Planned Parenthood clinic while boyfriend Drew (Miles Heizer) sat nervously in a waiting room.

While liberal publications such as and Huffington Post largely praised the episode for its bravery and realism in tackling a touchy subject during primetime, right-leaning outlets had a much different take.

“Yet another very special episode where TV characters promote predictably liberal positions,” said Dan Gainor, who runs the Culture and Media Institute, which, like the better-known Parents Television Council, was founded by Brent Bozell.

In the episode, Amy wants the abortion, but Drew does not. He’s supportive, but she is emotionally separating herself from him, and the only help she wants from him is money to pay for the procedure.

“If I have this baby, my life is over,” Amy tells Drew.

“It doesn’t have to be over,” he responds. “We could start a life. I can go to college. I can get a job. There are plenty of people who can help us.”

Later, Drew tells a friend, “I don’t want to give it up, but I’m trying to respect how she feels.”

There are several destructive messages in the episode, from a conservative, pro-life perspective.

“We get another pro-abortion piece where even the young father, who wants to keep the baby, never refers to the child as anything other than ‘it.' The friendly, antiseptic Planned Parenthood office gets a co-starring role minus all the controversies that plague its baby-killing operation in real life," Gainor said.

“There’s no discussion of life, of faith or any of the true arguments not to take the innocent baby’s life,” he continued. “All in all, exactly how Hollywood has twisted every major national issue for decades.”

What courage. They both screw up and she gets pregnant so lets just go kill the baby because she is a selfish delusional bitch. Great storyline.

Suck it Nathan Fillion - Wendy’s Franchisee Owner Blames ‘Obamacare’ For cutting hours

Eat it Obamacare supporters, this is the consequence of a law that is too expensive for business.
Hundreds of Wendy’s workers are seeing their hours cut back because of President Barack Obama’s health care law.

WOWT-TV reports that nearly 300 employees at 11 Wendy’s locations in the Omaha area will have their hours reduced to 28 hours a week because the franchise owner says he can’t afford to pay his employees health care.

“It has a huge effect on me and pretty much everybody that I work with,” employee T.J. Growbeck told the station. “I’m hoping that I can get some sort of promotion because then I would get my hours, but everybody is shooting for that because of the hours being cut.”

This idea by liberals like Nathan Fillion who threatened to boycott the entire chain showing he has zero clue, all this was told when Obamacare first came to light. Why the hell do you think that the added costs of Obamacare to give everyone "free" healthcare including the leeches who are getting taxpayers money to pay their premiums wouldn't hurt?

Its like pimps demanding more from their whores even though they can't make more money in their minds.

60 students and parents brawl at Bus Stop in Swissvale, PA.

Please don't be black...please don... aw hell you know it is.

Swissvale police are increasing patrols near a school bus stop where two major brawls happened the past few days.

Cell phone videos captured by students show a crowd of as many as 60 students and parents fighting in the streets of Swissvale, on both Monday and Tuesday.

“They were riots”, says Swissvale Police Chief Greg Geppert. Even worse, the fights were made up of both kids, and adults.

Police say they have already arrested five adults and minors, and are looking for close to a dozen more. The students, and parents were reportedly from the Woodland Hills School district.

“It was appalling. I’ve been very disappointed”, says Woodland Hills School Superintendent Alan Johnson. The superintendent says any students involved with the brawls will be suspended and expelled from school if possible.

Pathetic. It is way past time that black people start to call out the ghetto niggas who are constantly shaming everyone else.

Walmart disregard their customers and meet with sham Biden Gun Ban Group.

This nonsense of "looking for ways" to stop gun violence by the White House has only one aim and that is ways to ban guns from legal ownership. Walmart going to this meeting to be pressured to stop selling guns is going to backfire on them the same way their sales went down after getting close to the left a couple of years back.

WSJ - John Boehner finally learns that Obama can't be trusted.

It only took him four years and it is shocking me that he just realized what an arrogant prick Obama has been all along.
What stunned House Speaker John Boehner more than anything else during his prolonged closed-door budget negotiations with Barack Obama was this revelation: "At one point several weeks ago," Mr. Boehner says, "the president said to me, 'We don't have a spending problem.' "

I am talking to Mr. Boehner in his office on the second floor of the Capitol, 72 hours after the historic House vote to take America off the so-called fiscal cliff by making permanent the Bush tax cuts on most Americans, but also to raise taxes on high earners. In the interim, Mr. Boehner had been elected to serve his second term as speaker of the House. Throughout our hourlong conversation, as is his custom, he takes long drags on one cigarette after another.

Mr. Boehner looks battle weary from five weeks of grappling with the White House. He's frustrated that the final deal failed to make progress toward his primary goal of "making a down payment on solving the debt crisis and setting a path to get real entitlement reform." At one point he grimly says: "I need this job like I need a hole in the head."

The president's insistence that Washington doesn't have a spending problem, Mr. Boehner says, is predicated on the belief that massive federal deficits stem from what Mr. Obama called "a health-care problem." Mr. Boehner says that after he recovered from his astonishment—"They blame all of the fiscal woes on our health-care system"—he replied: "Clearly we have a health-care problem, which is about to get worse with ObamaCare. But, Mr. President, we have a very serious spending problem." He repeated this message so often, he says, that toward the end of the negotiations, the president became irritated and said: "I'm getting tired of hearing you say that."

The hell? UK Guardian writes piece defending Paedophilia

Even compares it as a sexual orientation like being a homosexual. I wondered when the left would start to push this as something society should accept. I guess it starts now.

Welfare recipients take out cash at strip clubs, liquor stores and X-rated shops

Welcome to New York.
They’re on the dole — and watching the pole.

Welfare recipients took out cash at bars, liquor stores, X-rated video shops, hookah parlors and even strip clubs — where they presumably spent their taxpayer money on lap dances rather than diapers, a Post investigation found.

A database of 200 million Electronic Benefit Transfer records from January 2011 to July 2012, obtained by The Post through a Freedom of Information request, showed welfare recipients using their EBT cards to make dozens of cash withdrawals at ATMs inside Hank’s Saloon in Brooklyn; the Blue Door Video porn shop in the East Village; The Anchor, a sleek SoHo lounge; the Patriot Saloon in TriBeCa; and Drinks Galore, a liquor distributor in The Bronx.

Sun Sentinel - Illegal immigrants bitch about being locked up for being illegal.

I agree. If they are proven illegal, kick them out the damn country. They are illegal. But the Sun Sentinel puts up a sob story about how they are being detained because they are illegal.

Commonly known by the abbreviation BTC, the two-story center, painted bright pink, sits behind a wall on Powerline Road, next to an animal shelter and across the street from a massive landfill.

The facility is owned and run by The GEO Group Inc., one of the nation's leading private prison operators.

GEO "has provided high quality residential, medical and programming services in a safe and secure environment to detainees" at BTC for more than a decade, the company said in a statement to the Sun Sentinel when asked to comment on the letter from U.S. lawmakers.

On any given day, the center can house 595 men and 105 women under terms of a federal contract worth more than $20 million annually.

It's the only immigration detention center in Florida run by a private company — a distinction that has brought it special scrutiny and concern.

"I think that this place is systematically set up to keep these women here — and on the men's side, the men — because there's money being made in this place," detainee Viridiana Martinez told the radio program Democracy Now! in a phone call in July from inside. "This place is owned by a company, GEO. And every time someone is detained, they are given money."

Martinez was one of the two young illegal immigrants who purposefully got themselves detained at BTC last summer to draw attention to the situation inside.

The government holds foreigners accused of violating immigration law, in order to process and ensure their deportation. Some people are confined for weeks or months while they work to gather information to prove they have the right to stay in the United States or while they challenge their deportation through an overburdened legal system.

Complaints from detainees and their lawyers about BTC focus on claims of substandard medical care, prolonged stays, detainees' depression, unappetizing food and insufficient legal representation.

"It's bad," Juan Pablo Alvarez Castaneda, a 21-year-old who spent five months at BTC, said in an interview. "For me it was like a year. The days go slow, slow."

He was sent to the facility after ICE stopped him at Miami International Airport as he was returning from a visit to Colombia, his native country.

Though he had been in the U.S. since 2007 on a conditional green card that he obtained through marriage to an American, he was judged "inadmissible" because of a July 2011 arrest in Hialeah for marijuana possession — his only brush with the law.

Castaneda was held at BTC until lawyers he hired persuaded a judge to reopen the marijuana case, and the state dropped the charges.

Many other detained immigrants, Castaneda said, also pose no threat to the public.

He said one man was held at BTC after he couldn't produce identification to buy a pack of cigarettes, raising the suspicions of a government agent in line next to him.

Another was arrested for misusing 911 by repeatedly calling about a neighbor's alleged threats.

Obama nominates guilt ridden French economist Esther Duflo to Global Development Council.

Great. When I think of a person from a country who we need to listen about economic policy, I think of a leftist guilt ridden white French person.
France’s Esther Duflo, a world renowned economist, has been nominated by US President Barack Obama to join a government body dedicated to advising the administration on global development policy.

Called the Global Development Council, the group was founded by Obama in 2010 to help shape US development efforts abroad.

While Duflo’s nomination will likely be viewed with a sense of pride in France, it comes as Obama’s leadership continues to be dogged by unflattering comparisons in the media to European-style socialism. Just Friday, the cover of financial news magazine The Economist depicted Obama wearing a beret, red neckerchief and a striped mariner shirt, under a headline that read “America turns European”. The article criticised the country’s recent fiscal-cliff deal as “lousy”, saying its mismanagement bore striking similarities to the “mess in the euro zone”.

Duflo, who was raised in a “left-leaning Protestant” family, said she became aware of economic divides and social injustice at a very early age.

“I was always conscientious of the gap between my existence and that of the world’s poor,” she told weekly French magazine l’Express in a January, 2011 article. “As a child, I was extremely troubled by the complete randomness of chance that I was born in Paris to an intellectual, middle class family, when I could have just as easily been born in Chad. It’s a question of luck. It inspired in me a sense of responsibility.”

Say goodbye to more of America's money being sent off to overseas in ponzi schemes to help the "poor." to alleviate her guilt.

WSJ -Los Angeles Yanks Plug on Free Parking for Electric Cars

This article just screams entitled whiny bitches.
On a recent morning, Jack Luu parked his plug-in Toyota Prius in one of the most expensive lots at Los Angeles International Airport before flying off to a film shoot in Canada. The lot, where Mr. Luu leaves his car as many as 10 times a month for business trips, normally charges $30 a day.

But when Mr. Luu returned home three weeks later, he drove out, as usual, without paying a dime.

"That was a huge reason why I bought the car in the first place," says the 35-year-old Santa Monica, Calif., postproduction company executive, whose car qualifies for free parking for up to a month at a time in two of LAX's most convenient—and costly—short-term lots.

Other than that, he says his ride is "expensive, underpowered and not really all that green," because it can run just 12 miles on electricity before switching to gas.
It gets better.

For years, LAX has offered electric-vehicle owners one of the most generous incentives of its kind in the country: free parking for 30 days in two of its terminal lots, which contain, altogether, 38 charging stations. The rule was meant to encourage people to buy greener cars, but lately it has turned the lots into a mob scene, with some electric-vehicle drivers circling the stations desperately for electricity or running extension cords while others hog the charging spaces for weeks at a time.

Tension is rising between all-electric-car drivers, who say they actually need to charge their vehicles daily, and hybrid owners who can get away without doing so because their cars can run on gas as well.

Some electric-vehicle owners say the airport should expand its free-parking program to cover all eight of its short-term lots, not just the two with charging stations. Others want valets to ensure all the electric cars get to recharge.

But the airport announced on its website this week that electric-vehicle drivers will have to start paying normal parking fees in March, and began leaving warning fliers on parked electric cars.

Whiny owners want everyone else to pay for their toys even though such a scheme is a money loser.
Now, though, as consumers embrace electric vehicles with new gusto, the airport says its parking incentive has become unsustainable. If electric-vehicle drivers were to completely fill both lots that are free to them, the airport could lose $120,000 a day, totaling $44 million a year.
